District Leadership Celebration Details

Reception and photo opportunity to follow the celebration
Please register for the California Schools to Watch District Leadership Celebration. The celebration is free for superintendents and one school board member, plus modestly priced for other members of your leadership team. (CLE is a nonprofit and therefore asks teams to help with the costs of the day.)
Three Optional Activities:

Morning of Thursday, March 9, 2023: District administrators are invited to participate in the Education Innovation Hub. This event pairs you with education industry professionals seeking your advice and insights. Lunch is provided along with a $300 scholarship for your district. Sign up for the Hub today – a limited number of spaces are available!

Morning of Friday, March 10, 2023: Your School to Watch team will be celebrated on-stage before the general session at the CLE Annual Conference. You are encouraged to spend the night and cheer for your team! Hotel Information.

Friday, March 10, 2023, and Saturday, March 11, 2023: If you want to see the general sessions and discover great programs shared by other Schools to Watch from across the state, you can also purchase conference registration to attend the CLE Annual Conference. As Schools to Watch is a system-oriented program, this event will provide useful professional learning for both staff and school board leadership.
These California Schools to Watch activities offer a great opportunity for you to bring your board and cabinet, enjoy the spotlight, connect with other leaders, and leave feeling rejuvenated! Nearly 300 leadership team members participated last year.

Schools to Watch District Leadership Celebration Day
This celebration on March 9th honors your district’s leadership team. Your superintendent has been sent information on registering for the District Leadership Celebration Day. The event is usually attended by district leaders, and you are welcome to attend for a nominal fee. The celebration will run from 2-4 pm, followed by a reception and photo opportunity. Please be sure your superintendent has received the invitation so they can register online today.

Schools to Watch Award Ceremony
Your team will be celebrated on-stage before the general session at the CLE Annual Conference on Friday morning, March 10th. Please see registration information below (#5).

Workshop Session
As a new School to Watch, you will present a 45-minute session on a replicable program or strategy either Friday, March 10, or Saturday, March 11. Please submit your session by Friday, February 10.

School Profile and Image
Your site will have a Schools to Watch Profile in the conference program and online. By Friday, February 10, please:

Make a copy of the school profile template, fill it out, save it to your files, and upload it to this Google folder. Name it “[SchoolName]STW2023Profile.”

Upload a high-resolution photo of the front of your school with your school name visible if possible to this Google folder. Please name it “[SchoolName]STW2023Pic.”

Registration and Hotel Rooms

Registration: As the principal of a new School to Watch, you get free and automatic conference registration (please do not register yourself for the conference). The primary presenter for your session also gets free and automatic registration. Beyond that, as a School to Watch, please bring two additional members of your team and CLE will give you one more registration for free. Altogether, you will have a site team of at least five. Please register your two paid and one free team members by Friday, February 10.

Due to the large of number of new STWs this year, there are a limited number of workshops available. Therefore, presentations are by invitation only. If you have been selected to present, you were notified through a separate email. Please submit a 45-minute presentation on a replicable program or strategy. Sessions take place Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11. Please submit your session by Monday, January 30.
