During this global pandemic, educators across this country are highlighting themselves through their ability to develop relationships with students, proving their dedication to their students and the learning process, and working harder than ever before to engage learners. And yet, at every school site across the United States, there are still those teachers who exemplify themselves within the educational profession during these most challenging times. Melissa Tanaleon, a second-grade teacher at Janet L. Young Elementary School in Clovis, CA is one of those teachers who has consistently exemplified exceptional practices through remote learning and is most certainly deserving of “Educator of the Year!”
