Although only in her second year as a kindergarten teacher, Lorna McNamee displays enormous commitment to students in the district. She leads through example and displays daily dedication to her students, families, and school community. The words of one of her parents express it perfectly: “She goes out of her way to communicate effectively with us in regards to our child's behavior, both in areas where he is excelling and in areas where he is struggling. She offers kind suggestions, praise, and encouragement, and holds our son to high standards of academics and behavior."
