Previously Gina Ayala was a sportscaster and a horse racer, but her most fulfilling role is as a science teacher. She makes learning science interesting and hands on; she also developed a popular food science curriculum. By involving students in sample collection for San Gabriel Valley Vector Control as part of a large study, they have become published researchers. Gina also coaches cross country, basketball and track. She is an inspiration.
