Derek Kisling’s teaching enables his students to realize academic growth and achievement. Derek has built his career on the belief that “every child can learn, and we teach ALL children.” He is a highly successful AP and general education teacher. He plans engaging lessons and his deep knowledge of the curriculum is evident. Derek has long been a strong advocate for the AP program and students. In addition to teaching, Derek serves as department chair; advises the History Day competitors; founded and serves as advisor for Rho Kappa, a National Social Studies honor organization; and serves as the assistant coach to the girls’ varsity water polo team.
