A phenomenal educator, Cheryl Hedrick’s reach into her school’s culture extends far past her title of library technician. She is driven by the beliefs that all students can learn and all students are readers. Cheryl’s scary stories initiative, planned annually with the 5th-grade teachers, teaches students how to create suspense. She searches for books to reflect students’ cultures and lives and includes deaf characters for the deaf and hard of hearing students on campus. She also led the robotics team and overhauled the AR program with teacher input.
